Si può viaggiare e scoprire il mondo senza utilizzare il denaro?

Da questa domanda è nata la nostra sfida e il progetto #malesiaswap. Lo abbiamo chiamato così, perché tutto partirà da qui: Malesia, Singapore e Borneo.

L’idea è nata dopo il successo del baratto sperimentato la scorsa estate in Toscana. Workshops di furoshiki e allestimento tavola per tutti gli ospiti della struttura ospitante, in cambio di un soggiorno di una notte.  Questa volta però, la moneta di scambio sarà il nostro supporto comunicativo digitale, alle strutture che ci ospiteranno. Fotograferemo, racconteremo, condivideremo, quanto di bello e speciale merita di essere fatto conoscere, nel pieno spirito share & enjoy, che anima il nostro stile di vita.

A chi ci chiede quale è stata la scintilla che ha dato vita al progetto,  rispondiamo che è stata la voglia di scoprire non solo nuovi posti nel mondo, incontrare persone con storie speciali da raccontare, soggiornare in strutture che racchiudono il concetto di “coccola di stile”, ma soprattutto rendere tangibili nuove forme di viaggio e sinergie anche senza l’utilizzo della moneta convenzionale, hanno dato vita a #malesiaswap.

La partenza è ormai prossima, il viaggio durerà dal 9 al 25 Settembre. Attraverso l’hashtag #malesiaswap si potrà seguire, condividere e commentare sui maggiori social network le nostre peripezie. Mentre io sarò alla ricerca di persone da intervistare, showcooking da non perdere e laboratori di tessitura ai quali partecipare, il soul photographer Davide Tiezzi, immortalerà tutto per un reportage di viaggio degno di nota!

La roadmap è ben definita e la trepidazione per la partenza cresce.

Cosa ci aspetterà. Oltre a visitare i luoghi di maggiore interesse come le Petronas Tower di Kuala Lumpur, i markets night di Melacca o il selvaggio Borneo con il suo centro di riabilitazioni per gli Oranghi, incontreremo alcune tra le più importanti food e lifestyle blogger di Singapore, così come un ristoratore italiano insediatosi in questa parte del mondo e non mancheranno artisti locali.

Saranno piacevoli tappe obbligatorie, le incursioni nel dietro le quinte degli alberghi , che ci ospiteranno e le interviste ai loro manager, che con grande entusiasmo hanno aderito allo swap: Batik Hotel, Straits Collection, Noordin Mews, Penaga Hotel, Macalister Mansion, Tanoti Crafts, China House.

#malesiaswap ha suscitato già molto interesse, tanto da trovare un compagno di viaggio speciale e goloso. Il Biscottificio Belli con i suoi cantucci, brioches e biscotti made in Toscana, sarà con noi a rappresentare l’Italia in questo scambio culturale e non solo. E in chiave moderna e non convenzionale, non poteva mancare il supporto dei bloggers che ci sosterranno all’interno dei loro spazi. Il countdown è scoccato. Un progetto più grande di noi sta per iniziare. Ce la metteremo tutta per farvi vivere un’esperienza unica attraverso la rete!

How to travel in style bartering. The idea #malesiaswap.

Is it possible to travel and explore the world using no money? Our challenge and our project #malesiaswap take birth from that question. We named it so, because everything will start from here: Malaysia, Singapore and Borneo.

The idea came up after last summer successful bartering experience in Tuscany. We have bartered one night stay with a furoshiki and a table set-up workshops for all the hotel guests’. But this time, what we are going to exchange, is our digital communicative support. We are going to photograph, tell, and share everything beautiful and special, that deserves to be known, to be shared & enjoyed in the spirit that animates our life style.

When someone asks what was the spark of life of the project, we answer that it was not just the desire to discover new places in the world, meet people with special stories to tell, stay in structures that have the concept of “cuddle of style”, but mainly to make tangible new forms of travel and synergies even without the use of conventional money. All this has given rise to # malesiaswap.

The start is now close, the trip will last from the 9^th to the 25^th of September. Through the hashtag # malesiaswap you can follow, share and comment on the major social networks our ups and downs. While I’ll be looking for people to interview, cooking presentations and weaving workshops in which to participate, the soul photographer Davide Tiezzi, will immortalize everything for a remarkable travel reportage!

What awaits us? Besides visiting places of interest such as the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the night markets of Melacca or the wild Borneo with its rehabilitation center for orangutans, we will also meet some of the most important food and lifestyle blogger from Singapore, as well as an Italian restaurateur who began working in this part of the world and we will meet local artists as well.

It will be a pleasure to make incursions into the backstage of the hotels that will host us, and interview their managers, who enthusiastically joined the swap: Batik Hotel, Straits Collection, Noordin Mews, Penaga Hotel, Macalister Mansion, Tanoti Crafts, China House .

# malesiaswap has already aroused a lot of interest, so to find a fellow traveler, special and tasty. The Biscottificio Belli with its cantucci biscuits, croissants and cookies made in Tuscany, will be with us to represent Italy in this cultural exchange. And in a modern and unconventional way, the support of bloggers who will sustain us in their spaces, is a must.
